1979 I would have bet it was older. Kind of cool 5/8 shaft with a centrifugal clutch, chain and jackshaft to the auger.

Almost a shame to remove it from a vintage snow blower.

I think it’s now a rolling engine stand. At least until I use the wheels for something else.

Question, was there actually foam in the filter housing? I recall seeing blowers back in the day that had empty housings from the factory.
