The MT50 can run without the battery, correct? At least that's what I remember...and I currently don't have one while trying to resurrect mine.

So it's been quite a while since my last post or action on the MT50...life took over. Interested in continuing where I left off. Bowzo, if you have a manual, I would definitely appreciate a copy (msg'd you). Anyone else work on one recently and have similar issues?

Hey everyone! So....I've had some time to work on this bike with little luck. The cable in question was in fact the Throttle/Oil Pump cable that I replaced with a new one. Fuel and oil tanks were drained, cleaned and new oil and fuel put in. Changed the trans oil too. Cleaned the carb. Removed...

Does anyone have the actual bike they can check the cable to find out how ut was hooked up originally and what it's exact function is? I plan to play with it some more on fri.

The choke cable is shown in link #12. The unidentified cable is the one on the left side of the engine (link #14 pics).

The cable connects into the top if the engine. You can see it in link #14 (2nd pic). Doesn't look like a kill switch. It's a braided pull cable similar to the throttle cable, etc. Does yours have one? I made sure to use fresh fuel and the bike has excellent spark. Just the oil hasn't been...

Not sure what this cable is and what it's purpose is as it's never been connected to anything. Please help on this one. The part diagrams I found online don't seem to show it. Is this crucial to operation?? Definitely don't look right.

I believe this is simply the engine's drain plug? Gotta leak at the plug.

Here's the makeshift bicycle choke lever:

Pic of the carb (after I took it apart and cleaned it correctly). I don't have the original carb case cover (mine's a makeshift from aluminum, no gasket). Also, missing the rubber hole plug for the adjustment screw. Hopefully that doesn't affect anything.
