Ok. Gote runs. Finally(not intermidently this time). Time to clean her up. Now just to get this straight, degrease, sand, paint, clear coat? Or is there any other secret tricks to apply?

I have been using Rust-oleum ''2 times '' ultra cover, paint + primer Lately,, & really like it .
It's only around 3 1/2 bucks @ most places, for a 12 oz. can.
I would still use Rust-oleum primer first though,, & finish with their clear cote.
If your base color is going to be dark, then use dark primer. If the color is going to be a light color, then I would use white primer.
Temp. is a key factor, plus ensuring that the primer has dried well.
I usually put on the clear within an hr. of the base color/colors, with a few light coats.
Around 80*f is usually a good all around temp. for a good paint job & drying.
Lastly,,
The longer the better, in letting it all set up & cure.
My basic rule of thumb on that is,, ''leave it alone'' for ''at least'' a few days. ;)
