if your id tag/plate is missin then you don't have much to go off of other then a few physical differences. from what I have gathered they made them from 87-88ish until 1995 or so. The early ones had the same tank that was used on the bird engineerin t birds and the later ones had a higher and more rounded style tank, as well as a huge number plate and a side skirt that wrapped under the seat.
