    Oh, artsy (fartsy) sepia tones.

    Interesting Muffler

Take photos of it when you get it--you know, so we can all see if it matches the ad. Agreed. It looks ostensibly like the exhaust found on a tiny two-stroke scooter engine. My first impression is that the claims by the vendor are more hopeful than practical. Love that it's threaded because it...

Predator 212 will start but revs really high with wheel spinning

Clutches are NOT universal. They're designed to engage at different revs. Many Comet clutches (or all) can be modified to engage at the user's choice RPM, using an accessory clutch kit.

    What is it

The silver one is obviously a "Hardly a Davidson". Says so right on the tank! :D But yeah, these are Chinese turds to echo Creia. Every one I've ever seen is broken and ready for the scrap heap.

Will an aluminum exhaust pipe melt? Yes.

Yes, they are usually brass in my experience, but that chrome is sweet. Everyone is always asking about better or quieter mufflers than the "Muffin" (hamburger?) Briggs 494585 or the "Hot Dog" Briggs 294599 or various other types but there's just not much info. I'm always looking for both...

Predator 212 will start but revs really high with wheel spinning

Upload your video to Youtube. You have to have a site to host the video and Youtube is as good as any. But you'll need an account there. Also, make the video public, not private. When you're done, post the link to the video just like you did in post #87 You need to learn carburetors. It's...

    Arco identification?

That's the reason. You have the post count of a newbie. ;)

Egad. I wasn't expecting that. I guess you figure the lower half of the engine is sunk in a sea of oil and it's like trying to sprint in waist-deep water. Don't let your size bother you, 3 HP is adequate in moving adults around and it's by design that it makes you look like a clown on a clown...

pred 224 manifold to engine off centered

Very common with these clone engines. Never really understood the use of a 'D' shaped exhaust port to be honest, but I doubt it has any relation whatsoever to your sputtering. I suppose you could smooth the transition, just on the outer 1/3 of the port, and take care that you do not change the...

Predator 212 will start but revs really high with wheel spinning

Otherwise known as surging or hunting; you can usually hear it so no need for a tachometer. Usually indicates a too-lean condition in the idle circuit. Try the settings described on that Mikuni site. It's wrong to assume that the carb is adjusted to any kind of factory settings when you buy it...

Fuel Tank Failure & Briggs 61102 Upgrades

Yeah you've certainly cluttered up the once clean lines of the engine and bike with a cornucopia of fuel tubing, couplers, hose clamps, more tubing, cables and more hardware... :D;) Keeping your local hardware store in business eh? So you've gotten better performance and responsiveness than...

Predator 212 will start but revs really high with wheel spinning

Well don't loosen it too much. The screw shouldn't have to fall off the carb just so you can make it idle.

Will an aluminum exhaust pipe melt? Yes.

Nice illustration of the concept, but that poor wrench! Brackets and hose clamps are 'easier' all around than taking the time to weld a wrench onto the header.... But different strokes for different folks I guess... It's a little overkill on the rigidity. No welding needed. The pipes that...

    Hustler Minibikes

Saw this on Youtube so I'm dropping it here for entertainment, info value and shock value. Hustler Minibikes are made in the classic minibike style by this entrepreneur guy in New Zealand. He sells them for the big bucks. What we here in the USA pioneered and took for granted are basically...

Predator 212 will start but revs really high with wheel spinning

HORY SHET. Well, there's your answer. You need to get that throttle-slide way way down to where it is barely open. Right now it's at a mid throttle setting and explains why it's running fast. Should have posted this pic in your first or second post. Next time you'll know. ;) Good photo...

2.2 what? Feet? Inches? Millimeters? :D This thread is approaching epic proportions of...fail. Please stop replying every few minutes. Wait till you get home, add some photos and try to ask more than one question per post.

    Pioneer? What brand or year?

Nice find, if that's your bike I'd just clean off the dirt, treat the rust, polish the paint and leave it in 'survivor' condition. So the 'Pioneer' decal on the bike in post #1 and #2 doesn't identify the bike? Or is it a variant made for and sold by Montgomery Ward or similar?

    Colman 50cc from Tractor Supply

When trying to go up the 3% grade, does the engine sound like it's at the right RPM? You're not going to climb anything at low speed because the clutch won't be engaged. Is it making a lot of noise but not really moving? Do you mean it kills the engine or it makes it stumble and run rough...

Predator 212 will start but revs really high with wheel spinning

No one can tell you're in school because you keep replying...:D I swear, if I was the principal I would ban all cell phones or collect them at the door. That Mikuni manual would certainly help, as long as it applies to your clone Mikuni. This man speaks with logic. Using the stock carb is...

Where's the pics of your bike, engine and carb? Pics are worth a thousand words, and some people can spot trouble just looking at a static photo, but here we are on page 3 with no pics yet. Gentlemen, we have the technology. We can transmit photos over the airwaves...
