Sixpac it looks like we are on the same page lol. I could have modified a premade carrier as well but I guess since I was just focused on my one bike that I wanted it to be a little more dedicated. I have a pre made carrier that I used to use on my mustang to haul mainly my tools to the junkyard...
Looking at that now, I would consider welding in some cross members between those bars or at least running some bolts through at the right spot to cradle your tires like I did with mine. I mounted an upright on the spine that ended up doubling as a rest(with cushioning) against the recoil...
Thanks Ole!
Posted this in another thread already, but I think it is relevant here. I built a custom carrier for the Rupp that fits a 2" receiver hitch. Came out looking very similar to the ones all over the internet that are generic for dirt bikes and other fullsize bikes. I built it to be...
Yes right now it's lift on and off. It sits low on that car so I added the bolts so that the front could be pulled up and then walked across it. I intend to make a crude ramp with two bolt holes drilled at the end so that a board with two bolts could be dropped on just like your typical utility...
So I nearly ordered one of those ebay deals for 70 bucks but I remembered I had a left over 2" insert from my generic carrier I used on my Mustang. My buddy had some square tube and then it was game on. Used it to haul the Rupp down to the big Misfire Riot event yesterday at my local track. Got...
Checked out the misfire page on facebook and someone drew up this nice picture of the event spots:

I'll look for a mini heavy area or else see if my pile doesn't get thrown out of the show area...
I been working hard to get my junk ready and I will be there. I see talk about mini bike pits. Will there be a certain area where all the mini bike people will be parking together on the race side of the track?
Went for a couple test rides. Definitely stronger. I'm afraid to twist the throttle hard from a stop for fear of hard wheelie. With the two teeth taller sprocket it pulls significantly harder than it did with LESS gear. Still workin out some bugs. Throttle was intermittently sticking but I think...
Hooked up throttle today. Decided to leave the arm where it was as it looks like it should work ok. The Arc plate uses a tiny cable clevis clamp thing that you slide the cable into and you are supposed to use the provided allen set screw to retain it. Problem I had was that the tiny allen wrench...
My research showed it to have a 54 tooth rear and I don't think there are any options to swap on. I think with the 12 tooth it was maybe a bit under 5:1 which I figured should be fine with the tav reduction from a start. I don't really know what to expect out of it honestly but I figured it...
Well my hopes are that I won't need wrap. Its got a bit of clearance everywhere and it is as tucked in as possible. I'd rather avoid the expense and ugliness of the wrap but will just have to see how it works. Here is another angle:
You are right with me on the sprocket. I don't know of a...
I've been making some progress on my 72 Hustler. I have read other project/build threads with good pictures and useful info so I figured it would be good to share pics of my junk and add my experiences to possibly help anyone else that comes along.
Purchased this from a friend that only had it...
