    BearKat engine mount plate rubbers.

How bearkat did the motor mounts is a puzzle to me. How did they weld them together without melting the rubber?

Bearkat Twister serial# Engine size ?

The Briggs model 140000 motor started with a HP rating of 5 3/4hp, and was upgraded to 6hp when the coil/flywheel polarity was changed. This caused a lot of confusion when ordering parts. Information on this motor was left out of many Briggs manuals.

Bearkat Twister serial# Engine size ?

Bearkat was bought by Todd sales in Phoenix. They developed the Twister in 1964 using a 6hp Briggs motor.

Bearkat Twister serial# Engine size ?

This ad states the motor was "Tecumseh 6-HP all aluminum motor". You may notice in the 'EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE'... "Optional 8 1/2 HORSEPOWER Gov't Rated 2 CYLINDER MOTOR (Special Order Only)". I wish I had more information on that option.

The second sprocket may have been added to vary the gear ratio in different trail conditions. Nice Twister! The Sportsman sticker was added but not factual.

    Tote Gotes

The factory parts drawings show a rear fender. I have used fenders I bought from a trailer supply store. I have seen them mounted on struts as shown or welded to the frame.

    Briggs 6hp head bolt count.

The 6hp head has 8 bolts, the 7hp and 8hp have 9 bolts. The shrouds should all be interchangeable.

Tote Gote BearKat motor plate question.??

It has always puzzled me how Bearkat and Twister assembled the rubber motor mounts. I haven't built one myself, But I imagine they found a way to weld the parts without burning the rubber isolators.

    Briggs question

The shrouds on the Briggs 6hp, 7hp and 8hp motors ARE interchangeable. Many people like to use the 6hp shroud because it is embossed. Also a shroud with the cast spring housing is better because the rope spool is cast metal instead of plastic.
