It can be done, but I think I would just find a Tillotson that was designed for alcohol.
If you are determined to do it, ask on one of the Go Kart Facebook groups, like VKA.

The 83-12-500 flywheel is CCW. it is the one in upper left above - $25
The linkage kit is $25.
The better rod is $50 if shipped in the same box
Shipping for above - $18
Yeah, it is a lefty, which is correct for your kart.
Then the upper left flywheel will work.
Is the engine in decent shape? Rope start engines typically are pretty old.
83-66-500 flywheel is for a reverse rotation engine ( clockwise rotation viewed looking at the PTO).
That was an option for karts that need a an engine on the right rear of the kart, before 'live axles' were available.
So the kart you are working on will dictate the engine position and rotation...
A picture of the LMB70 would help.
Throttle linkage for those Clintons is tricky once you remove the governor.
It doesn't get any easier with a Tillotson, as the fan housing will get in the way of the mixture needles or the linkage.
A Go Power manifold helps, but they are pricey.
I have Clinton...
The muffler SPARKWIZARD mentioned is a good cheap option.
I usually either drill holes in the end or completely cut the end off for maximum flow.
The E65 factory megaphone does not fit on an A400.
There is a knock-off that fits both engines, but very hard to find.
Yes, the factory sold a gokart...
I have a used coil with the same number, 5733, on it.
I get similar Ohm readings.
Yours if you pay shipping. Priority small box is 10.40 I believe.
Throw a new set of points at it.
Go to ebay and search for:
Timken - 470601
That will get you to a seller that has everything you need.
471646 is for the A400 PTO
470601 is for the A490 PTO
254270 is for both bearing plates
