Yeah I thought about that too.. But the inline works with the old coil and the new coil... With out the inline nothing.. Let me ask this the fly wheel is stock and its got some rust on it could the rust be enough to mess with the spark then when you add the inline it changes the impedance just...
SO i installed the new Coil and set the gap and still nothing. Why is it when I put an inline spark detector on the wire it will start but with out it nothing?
Come to find out I need a new coil.. Does anyone here know what coil I should get for just a stock replacement. if I need to get an after market thats fine but I really dont want to go the ebay route.

Yes this is new fuel and I have tried another park plug. Funny thin gis I can take a 390 carb and it fires up but it floods out once i give it gas. his carb came from a HOP Kit I bought from nr for a honda 270 I had a couple years ago. So it has to be in the carb...
a little back ground. This motor is on a long tail mud motor I use for duck hunting. Last season it was purchased new and worked great. I put it in storage after last year season ended and picked it up for early teal season this year. When I got it home it fired up just like before one pull. I...
Well as you guys know I blew up my other motor. Well I’m going to start building a new one. I decided to buy a new case and use most of my existing parts. I will need a new crank, rod, piston, and rings etc. The Cam and balancing gear are just fine. All of these were for a GX270. This is what I...
You very well could be correct. I did not do that so I know this is my doing.. Look shit happens that’s how I learn. I don’t mind screwing up from time to time as long as I learn from it.
What I have I learned this time?
A. Read the service manual.
B. When upgrading heads, cam, and rods...
What about just getting a new block.

Then go to page p
one this it only goes to .75.. So i would need to bore .375 correct? So if the scratches are more that that im hosed?
I’ve been running it for a few days but maybe on 30 minutes on the motor.. yes i did reuse the clips that’s why I’m thinking they came out. i might not have seated them.. This is my first build so I’m learning a lot.
I appreciate any input you could offer up.
I agree I believe the spring clip came out and jammed the piston. I did have it running pretty hot but nothing it shouldn’t have handled.
When you say grossly over reved.. How many RMPs should this thing beable to handle.. And what can i do to make sure it dosent surpase that rmp..
So if they can bore and sleeve this thing... What’s the maximum sleeve thickness i can have? I might just want to sleeve this and go to stock bore no need to go nuts.
I will probably try to save this block. Bore and sleeve if possible. I can by a new crank and rod kit. I would just need to know what to get.. heheh I need to learn from my mess ups and stay committed to the project.. I like to get my hands dirty and I broke this I need to fix it.
So i need to decide on the size of the piston and how much I want to go .. I have no idea.. You fell like helping me work through this?
How big can I go with the Honda GX270?
I use my motor as a mud motor on a boat so torque is bnest for me.
I would like to stay at around 20hp for...
So I should pull everything out of the block and bring it to a machine shop.. What do i ask then just bore it till its smooth and the groves are gone.. Then take the measurement to figure out where I’m???? Or should i Tell them a measurement before hand and see its okay??
