The 3 hp is great. Awhile back I had Chris laughing as I pulled a deadfall off the trail with a tow strap. He forgot how much torque there is with the jackshafts. Is a 3/4 shaft rare on a 3 hp?
I'm with Oldsalt on this one. It's the alcohol destroying seals. I'm burning Low lead av gas in my old school engines. They seem to really like it. But I have burned no lead pump gas in my 1969 Marquis for over 20 yrs. No valve problems.
It is tax time and I have to sell the Tote Gote. It is a Model B of 1959 or 1960 vintage. Mostly original with the front drum brake and rear jackshaft brake. Has the original 3 hp Briggs. Had great fun on the FS roads last summer, I will get something else soon. See My Photos on this site...
No, as long as the voltage stays within limits (no more than 14.5 VDC). High voltage will burn the bulb, not high current. This does not apply to LED bulbs which will fail on high current.

Yeah, that will wake you up. Also a reminder to periodically drain your tank. Worse is a corroded tank letting go.
Years ago I had a garage door spring let go. Not in the garage at the time but it was disconcerting to see pieces of the spring imbedded in the far wall next to my tool chest.
