We read mixed reviews on whether to leave it in or pull it. We pulled it, didn't feel any difference in the motor vibrating. We didn't do before/after testing on ET to see if it helped, but it certainly didn't hurt.

Jason (Hellaslow) and myself were discussing what we need to do to the bikes to get ready for this year. We feel we still have quite a bit of ET left in our bikes with simple changes, so we're going to see how quick we can get. We plan to go to much shorter gearing, maybe do some light port...

Why? 43" isnt too long. Especially for a drag bike.

We haven't been doing much mini bike related. Vw show season started so we were focusing on that. Now we're going to start a big garage re-org so we can work easier. Projects never end.

I'll put it this way, there are no disadvantages to larger rims, plus they look better. The only reason I used 6" on my bike is because I had them laying around. When I build a bike from scratch, I'm going to use a 10" front and probably an 8" rear (something like a Jr. Dragster or Mini...

I like this idea. Some simple software using a crank trigger sensor and a couple of teeth ground off the flywheel would be able to tell you how fast you are accelerating your flywheel and how fast it's turning. From there, you have HP. It may not be the most accurate, but it's repeatable...

I guess my goal for next year is to have a billet rod and flywheel in the big block so I can twist the motor enough to keep up with you guys :D

I ordered tires for my db from them because I'm in florida and wanted them quickly. It took a few days before it shipped (like 3-4 after I paid) and the item came from california. So it took longer than if I ordered it from some place out west. Just be advised.

Well, I had a successful, very fun day racing. The bike is very consistent. Unfortunately a bit too consistent :laugh: Off the trailer, I made several passes that were all 14.0 at 46-47 mph. With the 12x53 gearing and 14" tire, it comes out to 4900 RPM. I really wanted a 13 second pass, so...

Yeah, we really had a blast racing and meeting everyone. I wanted to post this sooner but I was about falling asleep on the way home. I came home, took a shower, choked down some dinner, and slept for 14 hours :facepalm: We'll definitely be doing this alot more than once a year now!

Got any pics of your 81 ct? I have an 81 also. I like it better than the earlier ones with all of the goofy lights and bars.
