There's wide open throttle and then there's governed wide open throttle. The former is an absolute terror. Had that happen where the throttle butterfly plate disconnected from the shaft it rotates on. The only way to slow it down was with the choke. The plate was stuck in the intake right ahead...

Bump. All engines--can't recall a discount like this before. Have not seen the basic 212cc near $99.99 since Mar/Apr of this year so it's not super stellar at $112.49. Better grab a few Ghosts or 224s if you want them.

I run 100% gasoline. Never had a problem (knock on wood) with leaving some in the tank or carb. True, but too big and sort of overkill. I suppose they could be fabricated from 2x4s--on that note, someone on YT made some stands from 2x4s in a log cabin pattern, about 10" x 10" or something...

The pic is cut off. What does it look like on the other end? Can you imagine trying to make that outside of a factory, without a giant metal press and male and female forming dies? Using existing parts, pots or motor housings is the way.

I enjoy group ride videos like this. Looks like a lot of fun. Sort of an outlaw minibike gang riding on the streets (oh dear!).... This is quite old now and everyone is riding a Baja Doodlebug...

Easier said than done sometimes, especially without a petcock. Do you siphon it or use any special device to drain the fuel like a fluid transfer pump? I like your attention to detail. Is it a special stand? I suppose if you didn't use a stand you could push the bike 2" forward/back every week.

How many of those features do you think were original to the bike and which were maybe added by the previous owner? I'll take a wild guess and say that it could be an early Manco Streaker due to points 4 and 9.

Post some photos of the kart. With photos it sort of dispels the fog and brings out people who may, for example, have a Klipper but don't know it is a Klipper but they may be able to help--many such cases with go kart and mini bike owners not knowing the ID of what they have. "2 seater Klipper...

I am enjoying the careful attention you are giving to this bike. Carry on sir. I was not aware a Cheeftah could be broken down in that way--a two piece (or three if you count the fork) frame is intriguing. Thanks for showing us the bike in broken-down form.

Got a better pic? I have never seen anything quite like that before (the "slotted metal piece" looks like the most unique part) but have seen similar primitive steering setups on promotional karts. EDIT: clearer pics will help you as (you never know) someone may have what you need but not know...
