It sounds like you have exh. hitting your tank, maybe try welding on a turn down tip??
Ill chime in, I have been selling race fuels for quite a while now and have learned a lot about gasolines and how they are made.
Pump gas has a high percentage of paraffins or (wax) in the fuel, this wax is what gels when fuel gets old. Race gas has a very low amount of Paraffin.
