You are correct. I got a new backing plate from @bobco and it now fits perfectly.

Hey @bobco and friends, I took the backing plate off the block and its seems to fit OK. Not sure if the shroud just needed a little persuasion :)

I am sure. I can slip on the blower housing and its not fitting on the right side. See photo.

@bobco I have one more problem. I put the new fancy flywheel on and one of the pickups for the ignition is draging on the inside of the new flywheel. Is it common to file these down a bit?

Hi Bob! Yes, that is where the clearance issue is, bottom and lower right.

I watched a video on it. Get some screen, bend around a 1/2 inch pipe, weld some ends on it. Learning to weld is on my bucket list....

Thank you. All my small dirt bikes from my childhood had a spark arrestor baffle that slipped inside of the pipe so you could not see it. That is where my head is at. Hopefully I can figure it out

Hello Gentlemen, I have been searching for a baffle insert for this 1 inch exhaust pipe. This open exhaust is too loud as I drive in my neighborhood illegally. I don't want to tip off the cops and end up in a high speed chase scenario. Do you have any ideas. Thank you:D
