Yes it gives ypu alot more compression but you actually can go to far. It hurts so much flow that it kinda offsets the compression, so you would get good low end but weak top end.

Didnt the briggs have a longer stroke/smaller bore and the tecs have a shorter stroke/bigger bore? If so, obviously the tec is gonna hold up to revs better and be a bit snappier.

Do a stock one first, get a spark plug a heat range or two higher and see if you get a bit more power

Eh just get a honda atc/trx 250r motor. Single cylinder, 36HP stock watercooled. Or and older (pre 1985) aircooled which put out about the same as that rotax. Tons of upgrades for both watercooled and aircooled engines

Yamaha did not make an "atc". Honda made "atcs". Yamaha made tri motos. That looks like a 225 dx or something. Dont quote me on the dx part but it definetly is a 225 shaft. They are really nice, like the honda 250sx, they are great sport/utility trikes. Check out 3WHeeLeR WoRLD - Forums...
