Could be the reason, I need at first to check the carburetor. The crank seals are probably dead especially in the ignition side(dry) . I will proceed with a compression test… I had a 90cc Vanvan, engine rebuilt but no power, carburetor was not clean enough… Thanks for sharing your experience

First start last Sunday, still lot of job to run properly …. no bad mechanical noise, no power too … it’s not a Japanese bike, gear box is tricky to use….

Hi Robert, last moped sold however it was not a real success . I lost the ignition after few hours and gave up … This one was a little expensive but spares are cheap ( Jawa engine). Less than 2 hours from my home… main issues: no front brake in this model and rims rusty…

My new project, a Roma with a Jawa 3 speeds engine o_O. Done by Italjet or subsidiary company in Italy … Bike is complet, I do expect to start the engine soon. Bad sides: no front brake, rear one is weak

The tag is a good motivation to finish the moped. Friend of mine in Connecticut signed a bill of sale (In Ct the moped have no registrations) and after an inspection I got one from Delaware DMV ;)

Big day today: I got the tag from Delaware ... The bike was running and last week the ignition went sick :rolleyes:.

First road test today :scooter:... Needs few adjustments, but very easy to start...:( Time to do the electrical circuit... :)

First firing today with starting fluid. I had to replace the condenser too :confused:, I will install it outside the engine :). So happy, I could go ahead now, testing with oil/gas for more running time ?

New coil arrived, spark seems ok ... :cool: In case of I have a new condenseur...

The continuity is an easy test, I have an open loop :rolleyes: https://www.motorkit.com/en/ is where I ordered the spare. I looked in eBay, prices where crazy...

The ignition coil is damaged :oops:, starting to look for one ...

Motor support: I am waiting a special tools for the flywheel :confused:. It will be possible to start the motor for idling testing ;) . NB: I found the solution for the registration :scooter::scooter::scooter::scooter:.

No spark, I have to look the ignition system: I have to remove the engine from the frame :rolleyes: So compact system :scooter:...

Back to the project, the book found in Paris :eek:. Very interesting :)
