Nice little TX-1 Deluxe you have there . Looks like it only needs a few parts to be complete . I also have a TX-1 Deluxe and two TX-1L's plus a TX-1 Standard all great bikes .
yes it is a TX-3 Tomahawk or just TX-3 whichever name is your choice
some were scrub brakes and some used a clutch brake none of the TX-3 had a brake on the rear wheel .
Welcome Good to see another from Iowa
If the gas tank is original it looks be a TX-3 . Was the tank a small round white tank ?? My TX-3 below has the one piece forks and your bike has the removeable bars .
Pictures are too small to tell for sure ??
 First time I have seen one called a JR
Those Birds are all over the midwest , kind of like Taco's are in the land of fruits and nuts
Looks like a nice bike they make great town riders and your looks in nice condition . Looks like the fender and bracket is bent . That is not a 71' unless it has been repainted . Below is a picture of one of my 71's they are all one color
That bike has a drum brake on the rear in the picture so it is not a TX-1D they have a disc on the other side  . Could be a TX-1L with the lights and fenders missing and Standard handlebars .
Not really a Night Hawk they have different handlebars . They don't have a crossbar and the handlebars are tall pull back type , Your bars are ThunderBird type also has a different seat
This is a original NightHawk
Lake Sports in Fairmont Mn made the Brute Cycles  This info is on OldMiniBikes
