so my friend who races go peds and builds stupid fast motors that push 12k rpms:doah:, says that he uses copper gaskets which are half as thick as paper one for more compression, anyone ever try this on a clone with success?

In an earlier post I mentioned getting 2 old minibikes for 100 dollars. Both have 3.5 hp Briggs engines; but "The Cat Dominator" would not start and had no compression at all. I was about to remove the engine, and install an old Montgomery Wards engine I have, made by Briggs & Stratton, but...
I basically want to know how much I can do to yhis gx200 before it's so powerful it requires reinforcement of any kind, or special fuel. Governor removed, billet conrod, billet flywheel. Want to shave .080 off the head and install a flat top piston. Stock crank .265 cam. 22mm mikuni carb...
Anyone know what the lift on the compression release is supposed to be?
When I changed cams, I noticed the nub for the compression release protruded more than the stock one. Subsequently, I have hardly any compression during pull starting, (less compression resistance than the stock motor and...
Im getting ready to hop up my GX200, plan on going up to around 11.5:1, is that going to be a pain in the a** to use the pull starter? I plan on using a NR racings 252-0207cam do they retain the compression release? Any advice appriciated.
Thanks,
Pete
Want to buy a compression release lever for 7/8's handlebars or a cable choke lever on some motorcycle engines . lever and cable would be a plus but the lever would be great. Will pay cash or trade . PM me
Running a yellow clone with the honda flattop along with the .020 longer arc rod. In combination with a 14cc head milled .065", was wondering if anyone would know what the approximate ratio would be?
I have a DB30 and I took a compression test today but don't know what the PSI reading should be on the little motor. I'm turning it over with the pull cord hot but what the PSI reading should be under shuch conditions is the question. I assume a 6.5 to 1 is the ratio but that's the ratio--- and...
Hi guys, I have a Honda GX270 and I've recently replaced the piston and rings. Now that everything is back together it is REALLY hard to start because there is so much compression. When I try to pull the rope the handle is ripped out my hand. Is this normal for a fresh piston and rings?
Thanks
Well that about sums it up, I have a '72 Arctic Cat Whisker with a Sachs 47cc and I've looked all over the internet and I need to know if 85psi is good compression or what it should be.

Recently i spent alot of cash upgradin the valve train, camshaft and got flat top piston. now my engine will barely run and sound like it's about to blow up. what is a good compression for pump 93 octane gas? my camshaft is 252 0211 from and it reccomended for 9.5 to 1. my engine is at about...
I am doing a tune up on my old snowblower with a 5 hp briggs motor..How much compression should this thing have when checked with a compression gauge?...I am only getting about 55 lbs..That seems low to me but the old thing runs pretty good..
hey guys and gals, i have a midly tuned genuine gx160 and looking to put a high torque camshaft in it. i want a cam that pull hard all the way through the power hand beacuse i offf road and and road race to. can anybody recommend any camshafts? and what does the compression have to do with the...
i had an extra gx200 clone head lying around.i then had the head milled .025(can anyone tell me my compression is?) and put it on and and it does not run as well as it used to(idles higher too) can anyone tell me what i will have to do/mod any advice will help.
What needs to be done to raise the compression up considerably? Mill the head and deck. Flattop piston. A different crank? When using a stroker crank does that mean you have to add material to the head deck? doesnt it make the stroke longer so wouldnt the piston then hid the valves? I want a...
