Here's what I don't get... I know the compression release holds the exhaust valve open at low speed to make starting easier. But, the recommended valve lash is .005. With .005 clearance, how can the cam hold the valve open? :shrug:

I have a clone 6.5 with no governor so I decided to get 18 lbs springs. I watched the how to vid and now I'm having a issue. After installing everything I'm able to turn the flywheel a couple types smoothly, then on the third turn it becomes impossible to turn with a lot of force needed to turn...

I just picked up a honda 390. I'm going to try to stuff this motor into a manco big cat. I plan on moding the motor out to a mild level. Is the lash for the values set the way same as the 6.5's? Are the measurements for the lash the same as the 6.5's?

Idk what to do???? everytime i take out my minibike and drive it for a good 15mins the valve lash will loosen up:censure: i set the valve nuts to 7 ft-lbs. i have a different piston, cam, and stainless valves in the engine but i dont think this would make a difference:shrug:

i bought a new yellow and it had 1 cap on the exaust valve . i changed the springs. did i get cheated a lash cap? on carb side. if so im sad

I just bought a 6.5 clone off a guy who had changed out its valve springs to heavier ones..The engine was brand new in the box and it would not start when I tried to start it..Backfired out the exhaust and no compression..I correctly assumed he had the lash way to tight..I set the lash at .005...

hey guys just put new ss valaes and 26 lbs springs in 15cc head do i need to put lash caps on both springs? i bought it as a kit and it came with two.mods are as follows:billet rod.010over,super dyno x cam 265 which they say works out to be 275 with stock valves,flattop piston,billet...

what should i set the valve lash too on a clone with billet rod, flat top piston, .265 cam, 18lb springs, gx160 head, chromoly pushrods, and billet flywheel? I set them to .005. Is that too loose? Thanks

hey has anyone had a lash cap fall off the valve and go inside the engine cause I seem to be missing one. is that possible. or did I just miss place it.

I know it may be a stupid question, but i dont want to screw anything up. How do you set the valve lash. Lets say i put my new springs in and the valve lash is at .008 and it needs to be .002, how hould i change that. that is hypothetical.
