rebuilding

Hey, Im new to small engines & i really want to learn to fix them up & get them running. I have this briggs that i got as an extra in a deal. it is Model 80202 type 1101-01 code 82071903. I was going to semi-rebuild it or at least try to get it running. I am starting to think it is not worth it...

I'm planning on doing a full rebuild on a early 70's hs40. What are the thinks I should look for and are there any must do's? I plan on rings, full gasket kit and relap valuves. Now on refinishing can I bead blast the block? Or is that a no no? Thanks

New to the site having a great time rebuilding two Pak-Jak's doing the yellow version first here is a picture before and now still working on it but getting close.

Looking to freshen up my what I think is a 66 h40, is there a rebuild kit out there or do you just need to find all the gaskets and such separate? Thanks

I have an old max torque clutch and decided to take it apart and reassemble just for practice and was wondering if any of you guys know any tricks for holding the clutch shoes together while putting the spring on without it all flying apart? I did get it back together but it was quite a challenge.
