installed height is too high correct? so if you cut the spring pockets you can get them to sit lower? using nr 274 lift 260 duration cam with locks and retainers with lash caps

I have two retainers off some shocks that were kaput. I had them chromed with the rest of the stuff I recently had done for the CAT. I wouldn't call them perfect, but they are nice and shiny on the business side. Asking $25 OBO shipped. Paypal preferred.

I have an extra 165 clone I am messing with, can I use I use lightweight aluminum retainers and split keepers with stock valves or do I have to use stainless valves?
