I have been back to working on the JD

Cut the fender lips from a pair of trailer fenders , then welded in the sides , and mounted them to the floor boards
Broke down the rear wheels , painted the rims and mounted the new tires
Finished welding on the hood and did a bunch of grinding and polishing

On to the pictures

I need to roll a hoop for the steering wheel and plan out the seat , then its time for grinding , filling and paint
Just spectacular.

I made the steering wheel today

Started by rolling a 7 inch ring



Then made the hub and spokes



Check it to template before welding



Test fit on tractor

Are you sure you don't have a full size Model 40 sitting just off-camera you are taking measurements from? You could've fooled me. That looks simply amazing. :thumbsup:

Made the seat and a sort of hitch and drawbar

Seat ready for covering

I started to braze up a fuel tank but ran out of oxygen for my torch, will have to get it filled this week

Worked on the tractor a bit today , lots of body fill sanding and paint

The hood and grill , filled and sanded

Just sitting together loose for a look , lol



I hope to get the frame , engine and axles done tomorow
