1970 Rupp Scrambler first ride today!

This bike has come a long way from when I bought it years ago. It still needs a few things, including a front number plate. The original 3.5hp engine was missing, but I found a HS50 from a Bird Engineering bike. The original TC-1 was worn so I replaced it with a TAV2/Series 30 clone. It was a fairly straight forward swap but took some time shiming the driven pulley and sprocket. If anyone wants a parts list and in depth pictures, I'd be happy to accommodate. Riding it today was such a blast from the past. I hadn't been on a mini bike in 25 years....and an extra 100lbs....

Here's a recent picture before I torn it down, sandblasted, and painted it. Someone got crazy with the orange and black spray paint. I did repaint the wheels black due to corrosion and lack of chrome. The other picture is the Bird Spoker I got mainly for the engine. It's still covered in white house paint. 20231230_161604-2.jpg 20231230_151232.jpg
