You could take both of them apart, select the best parts for one bike to keep,put the less desirable parts together and sell the second one.

I love the earls type forks.

Two brothers got them new for Christmas. The guy i got them from bought them from the kids dad 5 years ago. He said the building they were in had collapsed so they were selling what was in side. I bought them mainly for the lighted HS40s and slanted intakes but we'll see what they look like apart.

Man you have to keep at least one. Have one just like these and it is without a doubt the best bike for Windber in the woods trail.
They are Dorky looking but make up for it in ride quality.
The front shocks are just right amount of give.

Silver 4 hp lighted engines are always in demand so there is the love right there as well.
Congrats with whatever you do with them.

Dorky is a pretty good description. I’ll probably end up doing both bikes… one with all the best parts first. The wheels are going to be the worst. Those are definitely toast. I see some new 10 rims and a bunch of spokes in my future

the MTD trail flite is a great bike. but you have the first version, and i could never get used to those non-adjustable handlebars. ended up getting rid of that for the second version with motocross style adjustable bars. also if you can get the yellow (last) version with the 12" front wheel and HS50, that's a good upgrade too... it really makes the trail flite one of the best mini cycles with a tecumseh engine.

My wood clamp, heat, a little tapping around the threads and I went 8 for 8 with no damage
