Rusty, bent wheels

Evaporust to the rescue!

What the evaporust revealed.

JB Weld to the rescue! (hopefully)

I've switched to a plastic fork because I feel like if I keep using the good forks, she may kill me. :crying:

I will be watching this build too. I have two Murray Trac2's. Both are mutts but the most comfortable to ride out of my collection of minibikes.

As people might have seen from my other threads, the axles and mounts were fubar'd in the back. Here's how I fixed it. I used the centers of wheel bearings to replace the seats. My welding really sucks.

That's a good idea for the repair. Should be much stronger than the original metal.
And don't worry about your welding, I'm a so so Welder but an Expert grinder.

I put on some flat black over brown rust converting primer.

You can see my bondo work here, and the picture doesn't do justice of how much crap this tire gave me.

Things are coming together nicely. Check out my sexy clutch cover. I helped a buddy of mine build his honda 160 for his doodlebug a couple years ago, and he asked me if I wanted the spare parts. Lo and behold he had this clutch cover amongst them.
