2016 build off , Kawaski MT1B restomod. Just for fun! class

My entry for this year, hopefully will provide me with the motivation to keep at the project. It's a 74 Kawaski mt1b I picked up last summer as a winter project. Got a good deal on a parts lot shortly after I got the bike so I have a pretty good inventory of parts to get started. Won't be a museum quality restoration just a driver.

Here's a couple more pictures, before the day we picked it up as well as the parts lot I lucked in to 10 days later. Then today's progresson the tear down. Will clean and paint the frame next, likely in my go to colour of metalic charcoal instead of black, its not going to be original anyhow.

A few baby steps this weekend. Got one coat of paint on the frame. I like it alot! Dismantled the forks and dropped of the replacement set to Rob for some welding. Bushings in my parts stash are much better than the ones that were in it. Started repairing the headlight ring this afternoon, tapped out the scrape and dents then did some sanding, not complete but its coming along.

Nothing real exciting to report this weekend. The weather was warm enough that with my little propane heater in the shed I was able to paint ( propane turned off while painting). Frame, swingarm, headlight bucket and exhaust shield are done in charcoal. Rims and hubs done in met. silver. It is nice to have made a little progress.
