3.5 hp vs 6.5hp Chain

Ya Ya,
Have a question,not sure if it can be answered though.Ok say you have a 3.5 modern Briggs engine in your frame.Now you pull it and put in a HF 6.5 engine in. Question is,will the chain still be in the same place? In other words will the chain be moved over more(towards mini frame tubing) since HF engine is larger? I did look at pics online and it appears like the 2 engines on the shaft side are either the same or very close to the same.The pull starter side looks wider on the 6.5.Hey Thanks...

I pulled a 3hp off a bike and put in a blue 6.5 and the chain lined up just fine. I was worried too...but it worked out fine.:thumbsup:

usually if the engine mounts line up the clutch will be the same position, I think the cranks machining is fairly standarized bewteen brands and sizes so that you can swap out most engines with no problems with alignment...
