31mm valve seat

#1
OK, so,,, are the Raceseng 32mm ones real shallow? Any issue with drop-outs?

A 14cc new casting, with a 31mm hole, same depth as stock seat, gets through the casting.

It was no biggie to weld the outside, even with the porous casting, and get a seat in. Epoxy in roof.

where did you get the seat cutter? Did it locate off of the valve guide. I have heads and oversize seats to install but do not know how to do it. Tried to bore out a seat with my boring head on a bridgeport but it did not cut well with the old seat in. Think I need to remove old seat first and now realize I need a cutter that uses guide to keep bored hole concentric with the guide.

I have their catalog but couldn't find them do you have a part # by any chance? I will go back again and look. Thanks for the tip. So these are cutters that use a 3/8 guide pilot? What did you use to turn cutter?
Thanks Ole

found it looks like I would have to buy the whole fast cut system adding up all the parts needed it is over $1000.00 dollars. according to the catalog cutter 1995 has a range of .551 to .850 isn't the seat hole you bored over 1" ? or is that measurement the radius of the hole? Sorry for all the questions.

No worries. Wrong pic, same tool in different size. We do quite a bit of head stuff. Yeah, I try not to add things up, just accumulate. My partner and I spread the expense out.

Those seats look real good! Im getting ready to build a head myself. Im just gonna circular interpulate the valve seat pocket on a cnc mill. How much interference fit do you use between the seat and the diameter of the pocket? I figure a good .005" will keep that seat in there. Should be easy enough to grow that alum head that much to get that seat in there.....right???

The head looks good
What made you go with the 30/25 combo instead of the 32/28 setup?
Thanks.
Port area to curtain, bore/wall shrouding, mass v flow, keeping short side active, the usual. <200cc build, just for fun, to get a baseline. Not sure how "in" I'm gonna get with these. You do some nice stuff. That's where my bike stuff ends up. 170cc, 26hp@12,800 air-cooled 2v. So far. Switching to methanol this year.

What motor is making 26hp?
Have you ever had it flows tested?

KLX110-based head, Honda-pattern lower. Yes, we've had the head on the bench a few times. It's gone through some changes.

One change, when the 251cc bottom came unscrewed. lol

That was 30/24.5. It's now 34/27 with Ti intake.
