I've been slowly collecting parts for a Briggs flathead 5 horse. I have a slide carb, billet rod and flywheel and recently found an IC engine on eBay that I can afford.
I know where to find gaskets and other things like gas tank and fuel pump. My next step is valvetrain. I would like a little more duration and lift than a stock cam, and I want a compression release on the cam gear, not a bump on the lobe. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Most of the cams I see online seem to be for kart racers and top RPM. I want a midrange torque, hilly dirt cam that will rev to about 5K.
