I own one of the military Briggs engines, they have a longer crankshaft on the flywheel side and the engine block has provisions for the stator to bolt up under the flywheel.
Rocco do you think the flywheel will bolt up to a standard block and crank? I've had a couple of those longer cranks from snowblower engines with a elect start flywheel,, the shroud is about 3/8" wider too
Randi I took a pic for you, the longer crank may just be for the 12 volt starter on this motor (clearance for the ring gear) IDK but the engine block must have the little bosses shown in the pic to mount the stater coil.
Thanks Rocco for the pic, I was hoping it was those two bosses and not a special block..I can just drill and tap the ones on mine since they are solid..
