Because I want something new, new and well...NEW I am gonna by a new engine for my beefy minibike rather than rebuild my 8hp Tecumseh. I can get a new Briggs 8hp Intek OHV engine for under $250. Curious- is the over head valve Briggs Intek a better engine than a new tecumseh flathad 8hp?? I own an 6.5hp OHV JiangDong but I am not able to make a direct comparison to an old school flathead 6.5hp. The Briggs engine I am looking at has the correct 3/4" crank so my TAV 2 is good to go and I would take the new Mikuni 26mm slider ig my oil burning Tecumseh and put it on the Briggs. So- is the modern OHV engines better than the flatties????
