A tragic loss to the minibike community

Just received word that Jeff Mihalko's father passed away. Please keep the family in your thoughts during this difficult time. If you haven't attended Windber, you missed out in meeting a great human being.

Sorry to hear that, I had some very nice conversations with him over the years he was a real gentleman.

Father's Day weekend at Windber will no longer be the same.

Dave did a lot for the reunion and the mini bike world in general; some of the best was just coming up and talking BS with him for a bit- Dave, Jeff, Dawn, any of the Mihalko's are always a pleasure to speak with and make the reunion the best mini bike gathering and make you feel extremely welcome to their property and event.

Fresh out of surgery and checking on the reunion like a boss in his samurai.

He went on a mission to find me trailer leaf springs for my trailer when they broke at Windber, and all of the Milhalko family made sure it went smoothly for me.

It's up to the attendees to continue to make Windber an annual event. Respect the people, event and what goes into it, and make sure it continues.....

Dave will certainly be missed by many.

After sending Jeff a message I was sitting here reflecting on the last few years. Even with bad weather and other difficulties, Windber has given me so much. We are one of the few 3 generation families fortunate enough to attend. I was Just telling Jeff how much that means to me. Sharing something with my family and his. Dave was so hospitable and just a genuine nice guy. From the moment I shook his hand, he talked to me like I was a long time friend. That's how their family treats everyone and that's what make this event so fantastic. The Minibikes are secondary.
My advice is if this is even a glimmer of thought, make it happen. You never know what tomorrow can bring. I've met some of the best friends at this event. Do it while you can!!!

Was very sorry to hear this. I had the honor of him taking me through the museum last year, and hearing the history of many of the bikes, as well as when he dropped in to Big robs campsite for a visit.

Well I didn't realize this thread was here before I posted this in the Windber thread :doah:

Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Inc. | Windber PA funeral home and cremation

Truly a sad day, Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jeff after the loss of his dad David A. Mihalko, Sr.

It was always a pleasure to talk with him  The first time Mama and I went to Windber he came over and welcomed us and asked where we were from  and the two years since he came over at some point during the weekend and asked how our drive from Connecticut was, he remembered us and was happy we made it back every year  It will be a sad year this year without that welcome
