Something that is pretty cheap to buy, and you will use more than you think, is a thread pitch gauge. They come in fractional and metric and will instantly tell you the thread pitch of nearly any fastener you might run across. Automotive, small engine, around the house, machinery, appliances, i use mine all the time.
Takes the guesswork out, and eliminates ruining threads.

I assume Go powers use a fillister head screw as do the kidney bean…they are 1/4x20x1-1/2 if I remember correctly….maybe 1-3/4?
