bay area meet?

how many of you are close to the SF Bay Area?

it would be fun to have a bbq / show off your mini bike type meet. since the weather sucks now, it would probably be best to do it once it warms up a bit. if there are enough people interested it could we could set something up for early '09 or something.

Injuntom is in Modesto so that's not too far away. i've met him a couple of times.

There's a few of us in the fresno area that could be down for some sort of event somewhere. Keep it going, maybe we could get a mid-state thing going.

i'd be willing to drive an hour or two for a meet. the only issue is finding someone that is in a central location that could find a place to do this. a park may work (and lots have bbq pits), but riding around at all would be questionable. the last thing we need is cops showing up and writing tickets or impounding bikes.

organizing car meets is easy since you can use almost any parking lot and drive where ever.

How about Lake Del Valle in Livermore Ca. Its run by East bay regional park district. They have a campground thats separate from the other campgrounds, ( you have to cross a stream to get to it...COOL!) that can be rented for "private parties" .:thumbsup:http://www.ebparks.org/files/Del_Valle_camp.pdf

One way to find a location that is OK for noise would be to piggyback on to a Vintage Kart event. I will see if I can find something between Sacramento and the East Bay.

noise is definitely a concern when it comes to riding. my mini bike is just running a header so it's pretty damn loud.

that's actually a good idea. we'd have to see if they'd allow mini bikes there since they aren't stickered.

Can you green sticker a minibike? If so, Carnegie will work great.

getting a green sticker would be difficult. i'm not even sure if it's possible to do it on one like mine with no numbers.

Minibikes have always been on the opposite side of the law, maybe that's its true appeal.

The minibike I have right now has a green sticker on it. The PO said he has the paper work but forgot to give it to me. I wonder how he did it, I will followup with him.
