Benelli Caddy

#1
Hi All,

I picked up this Benelli/Motobi Caddy over a year ago. It's closer to a Hurricane than a Buzzer, built in the early 70's

It's pretty complete and I have a few usable NOS parts in a pile I bought back when I had a Dynamo. The Caddy had the head off when I got it and was covered with sawdust (the p.o was a carpenter). I pulled the engine to see what was needed and was dismayed to find the clutch hub had been tack welded to the end of the crank after the crank end was snapped off.

No biggie, I found a Buzzer parts engine on eBay and am pulling that one apart to see what it needs. Between the two I should be able to build a runner.

The bodywork is reasonably intact but the front mounting holes need work and there is a long crack at the left rear (see 2nd pic). I think it is made of ABS.

The tank bolts to the frame and the seat/grab rail/bodywork bolt to the tank.

Progress has been slow, hopefully I will have more time in the future to finish it.
