Well, I picked up a new jackshaft and some higher quality bearings. There's a lot less wobble in the shaft now. I took a quick easy spin yesterday and everything seems ok. The shaft never got hot. Thanks for the suggestions guys!
I took it out for a slightly more "spirited" ride this morning. The bike definately needs to be jetted with the pipe and filter. It doesn't like to start hot. Also I think I'm done riding it until it has a permanent gas tank on it and better brakes ( the factory brake is non existant feeling).the bike was still climbing speed when I chickened out ........GPS was at 56 mph!
