Did ALL the 1400s come with the top mounted plastic gas tank? Or did some come with the engine mounted gas tank?

bc1400 and bc1500 had fiberglass tanks bc1300 had chrome under seat tank bc1000, bc1100 and bc1200 had engine mounted tanks

Were the fiberglass tanks always white?
I would say yes. They used orange gelcoat on the shorter 7/8" tube MX/MB frames (frames were a silver color). Also note, because you had asked in your first post, hardly any mini bike equipped with an H50 could accommodate an engine mounted tank. They had to sit quite abit higher than the head of the engine in order to flow fuel because the carb height. Mini bike frames could not clear them, hence the remote tanks having to be used. They were a necessity, not just an option.
