bonanza 1500 manual foot brake

I am picking up a bonanza 1500 this or next week that has a manual rear foot brake. I have only seen some hard to see pictures with it. Does anyone have good pictures of it or more info? I think they put them on hodaka power bikes that came with the option front brake. The guy cant send me pics i already asked lol.

NO no, well we all know that it was a rare option for a bonanza to have a front drum brake. I have seen a few test in mag for the Bc1500 ( hodaka power ) with this optional front brake so they fills up the handle bars with control levers so they came up with a manual foot brake for those bikes. I am picking up a bike next weekend that is suppose to have one but was wondering if anyone has any pics or more info on them? Also does anyone has a front brake of one or good pics? I have a bc1400 dealer ad with a good pic of the brake hub but, thats it.

OK,gotcha now. Yeah post some pics ! I've never seen that.

Well Bill, I searched everywhere and come up short. Ya know if you'd stop finding all this rare stuff, you would have to do much searching lol:laugh: hopefully someone chimes in here. So here's a free bump

foot brake

I wondered about the foot brake as well, my 1300, (which I suppose
could have been another model with different forks, who knows?) But anyway,my frame had a factory looking hole drilled thru it on the right side just below the foot peg bar(forward peg model) I had been suspicious that it might have activated a foot brake at some point but could never find anything on any pictures...so I had it welded closed.. what a shame it would be if that was what it really was... i'm interested to see these pic from sly.

These pics have been on minidoodle for quite some time. Looks like the negative was reversed when printed but here is the front brake and rear foot operated brake.
It looks like the brake pedal rod is also the swing arm pivot.

both pics are back asswards. the brake handle, sprocket, engine, pipe.

I know this is an old thread but did you ever get the bike? Any pics?

For anyone wanting to do this its so easy , get a brake lever from PCC motors a piece of threaded rod and hemi joints end from OldMiniBikes a small tab welded to the frame and your done . It also turns the crappy rear brake into a really good rear brake .
