I bought this 3 years ago. My thread, Truck load of mini bikes!!!! tells the story on how I found it. I got it running recently and she runs Great! I always liked the look of the Mickey Thompson Bikes so I swapped the stock bars for some 18” Apes and Beston grips. It’s got a seat off a BC1500SH. The Bike has a Hortsman Torque Converter. I know nothing about these TCs. Does anything need to be lubed or adjusted? It takes off smoothly. Does anyone know where I can buy a new belt? Thanks Joe

Thank You Robert. I had to swap the metal tank full of holes for a plastic one, exchange the leaky, corroded Flojet carb for a Chinese Tec Carb off my pals rototiller. I suspect the bikes been sitting for a long time because the brake arm was frozen. The pull rope squealed and wouldn’t retract. After I cleaned the pull start clutch and sprayed the ball bearings with graphite, it worked fine. It’s just a low dollar rider .

Joe, it takes a TC88 belt. (5/8") There is a chart here that gives you the part number after you measure your center to center for length. One place you might try is Belt Palace. If you need help turning your affordable daily rider into an over-restored $5000 garage queen, I'm your guy!

Thanks for the info Dave. I just added a Chrome pipe right outta my 1968 Childhood days. Back then, I cut a section from my Moms old Chrome ironing board leg. I took it to the kid who was already welding at 12. You know the kid whose Dad was a Machinist LoL. I got a Tattoo Artist up the street who’s gonna lay a little Pin Striping on the Fender. I got a $5000 Bonanza/Hodaka indoor Queen collecting dust. This ones more Fun!

I got the Pinstriped Fender back yesterday. My sons friend who’s been Tattooing professionally for 15 years said he would give it a try. He bought 1 striping brush and practiced. Not bad for first attempt!

I'd hang those scribbles on the garage wall. You can almost follow the thought transition from tattoo styling into pinstripe mode. Very cool.

I swapped out the front mounted tank today for a cylindrical tank because I wasn’t getting enough gas flow. It looks better too. Next I wet sanded the Chrome Bars, lever and mirror with 220,320 to give it a satin nickel finish. The Bonanza BC 1500 seat wasn’t “ratty” enough so That got switched. I removed the chipping black paint off the lower legs. It’s a blast building a Rat Bike. Not sweating everything being Correct lol.

Cracked up when I read this. Around here, his name was John and his dad was a drag racer, as well as a machinist. They had a front engined rail, in the shop. We had lawn mowers & bicycles in our garage. Thanks for taking me back.

I ran into the guy 40 years later at a Car Show. This kid had a tree house with electricity. He wired the door knob so if you tried to get in, you’d get a mild jolt! LOL
