Thanks to Member @Rhovis for posting some close up shots of his Tig'r bike the other day I finally realized what the heck a weird clamp on scrub brake assembly I had years ago was actually for! Even though I now see it plain as day on the brochures that I have looked at for years, it just never clicked that there it is :rolleyes:.

I had asked years ago on here about it, nobody knew at that time, It is long gone now but it was a cool and interesting piece that I always wondered what it was for. here it was, I used one of my Lil indians at the time to give an example of fitment, I had removed the idler sprocket, but it did come with it:

Looks like a lot riding on that hose clamp.
There is no problem and the clamps work perfect. The brake force from the shoe in directed downward through the rubber pads. That thing has rubber cushioned brakes. The peddle force goes through the wheel bearing and frame. The clamps really don't do much. Now if you stabbed the brakes in reverse real hard, you'll pull on the clamps.

Rhovis typically applies the brake while going forward.
