I’ve never had the pleasure of working with a brand new motor….so I got this short block off Markus….the only thing used on it is the crank and stator…of course externals….even bought a brand new head….going to fire it up this afternoon….
you asked about the stamping in the other thread that info is there. The first engines were available by October of 1971, unlike the hs40 that they introduced in October of 1967, they didn’t seem to have too many problems out of the gate. The HS40’s they had to reconfigure the block, crank and connecting rod within the first few months of production, and then reconfigured the block agaain a year later.
