Can someone help identify?

Guy I work with showed me this engine thst he had on his mini bike in the 70s. He said he thought it was a briggs but wasn’t sure, and he asked if I could find out. I looked around and didn’t know notice any stamping. I’m still relatively new to a lot of small engine stuff lol. He said he went to a neighbors and they had a torn down bike and asked what he wanted for it and they gave it to him. And his dad found this engine in the garage and he threw it together and rode it for awhile. Thanks for any info

Belated reply, but I like answering unanswered posts.

Looks like a 1936-1941 Briggs and Stratton WM engine. About 1/2 horsepower and usually had a kickstarter lever that pivoted on the reinforced boss at the 2 o'clock position at the rear. Cast iron construction and nearly indestructible.
