Carb gasket eaten ?

#1
This is what was left of my carb to intake gasket on the fat bike. Apparently what I thought was snug on the carb bolts wasn't... Or was this from a backfire, maybe? I think remember my son saying it backfired on him once.

Anyway, gasket replaced today, now it idles again... and starts right up

I doubt a backfire, but several may have shifted it....... carbs mounts usually benefit from several checks, and the thicker the gasket the more it will compress over time, vibration and heating. add to that most carb mounting ears flex, so don't give it one big tighten, several snug ups will help, and keep the carb body from being distorted permanently.
