Recently picked up an old standup ground compactor with a 2-stroke Chrysler 580 on it.

Just curious if the horse power this little thing puts out. I'm guessing around 6-8hp but not certain.

58011 Was made for Master Vibrator, Dayton OH for there tamper, rated at 3.5 HP @ 5000 RPM. 580 engines were rated between 3.5 and 5.0 HP depending on RPM. The Five port 580 was rated at 6.5 HP @7000.
The curve on the three port 580's is: 3.5 @5000, 4.0 @5500, 5.0 @6000.

Do you know if you can get parts I need bearings
The main ball bearing is a 6204, the ignition side bearing is a Torrington J-1210, the wrist pin bearing is a Torrington B-810. Kat Kart may have all the bearings you need, also be sure you replace the seals. Torrington was sold to Koyo so you will need to get them from Koyo, the last wrist pin bearings I bought had the Koyo name with the B-810 number. If Kat Kart does not have the bearings and seals any good bearing house can get them for you.

Thank you, my local supplier had the crank bearings and I found a rod bearing on ebay. My crank has some rust on the journals but I thing it will work.

Interesting... Thanks... The problem is on ebay I see what looks like a chainsaw engine "they" saw goes to a go kart. I found another one a really beat up Mcculloch I think might also be a chainsaw... I must be careful. Thank you for the update.

Also usually that model the crankshaft is correct. It's the ones with the 580 mounted up and down that usually have the wrong crank. Every tamper of that style I always use the motor mount and the crank is good to go. Hope it helps.
