Coleman CT200U Disc Brake Setup?

Has anyone done a disc brake conversion to the Coleman CT200U? The rear drum brake can not keep up with a bike that runs 72 MPH. I was hoping to add a disc brake to the front if only the rear is an option that'll work too.

I took another rear rim cut the sprocket flange with the hub and bearing sleeved it and welded it on the drum side for a disk.
Do you have a pic so I can see? I thought about maybe taking a front rim, machining the axle tube down shorter and welding a flange to it and making a caliper bracket on the fork for front brakes. Unless they make a rear 8" rim set up for disc already and I can turn down the sprocket flange and mount it up front. It would be nice to have front and rear brakes on this thing

Actually all he needs are good brake shoes.

The factory brake shoes are pretty much junk. Make sure the drum is not rusty. If it is, use the old shoes and glue sand paper to them and just ride it a little while dragging the brakes to polish the drum. Simple cheap and a pain in the rear but it will clean the drum up. If you install the new shoes on a rusty drum then all the junk gets embedded in the new shoes and then they are junk...

A quick search of the forum turned up this....

I ordered a set of shoes from amazon that are just like that. They come in today along with a tav2 and new tires.

That's not a Coleman mini bike. I have been searching for this answer as well. I have not been able to find hydraulic brakes installed on a coleman. This is my determining factor in buying the bike.

Did you ever install rear disc brakes on this bike? This is the only thing stopping me from getting it. It doesnt make sense to do all the mods and have crappy brakes.

Thanks

That may not be a coleman but I believe the same thing would work.

Or maybe a wheel from a megamoto 212 would work? Factory hydraulic brakes and they work fantastic. It's a 19x7x8 tire so the rim should be the same. First time I've ever had good brakes on a minibike
