great info eric..
awesome...man
one of the reasons I keep asking for bearing and crankshaft measurements. mr clements answer my question.
might have a easier way to machine the bearing down. instead of buying multiple bearings like he said and maybe making a jeg to mill them.
you could do it all in a lathe on one set of bearings. I don't think I can do the Dremel wheel...lol
I just made a rod/shaft jeg on my lathe and kept it center and then clamp my wide briggs billet rod w/bearings on and wala...

with skip using the correct width rod he would only have to clamp the Tecumseh rod down with one half of the bearing protruding out and then flip it over and do the other side. assuming the rod bearing lock ends still fits the rod correct. i would think this would be just little better clean cut then using a end mill to cut it down. also wonder where the oil hole lines up with the bearing or do you have to drill a new hole?
I wonder what his brother Charles would think of my full roller bearing hs-40 i built....lol
