DB30 clutch noise

Hello all...new to these bikes, picked up a couple for the kids. I notice one sounds great, very smooth, and the other at idle the clutch is really pinging. What is it about the centrifugal clutch that would make one ping alot as compared to another identical one?

Just a guess but i would say "mass production".I wouldnt worry about it.:thumbsup:

Make sure the chain has the right tension (1/2" to 3/4" of play). Make sure the clutch is oiled.

i wouldn't worry about it much. my Max Torque clutch pings like crazy at idle.

If the engine is angled the slightest bit to the left or right when mounted the clutch will ping like crazy, everything has to be dead on and lined up.

The instructions are vague about chain adjustment. Though I understand the free-play method, they picture a chain without a tensioner, measuring the play on the bottom of the loop. I just removed the guard, and used the top of the loop to measure free-play. Is this how you guys are doing it?

I did blow out the clutch and oil it as recommended. I should put em on the bench and check the alignment though.

my dad greased mine because it was bone dry. Since he greased it a can lean and turn and it wouldn't make that sound:grind::censure::bowdown::hammer:
