Deepco Maxmatic Clutch

Im in the process of making an old Wards Special scooter run again after a long time sitting. It is equipped with a Deepco Maxmatic pully clutch on the crank shaft. Been looking all over the web for details on how they work and havent found anything. Anyone have any experience wit these? Any help greatly appreciated.

They are a torque converter style drive system. They are unique in that they can be adjusted for belt wear by removing clutch shims. Be sure to save the shims you take out so they can be re-used when you install a new belt. I used Cushman clutch shims with a new belt since they are readily available from Dennis Carpenter.
