El Tigre Minibike

#1
Werll, I got the thing, and had to just sit and look at it until this afternoon (prior commitments and Honey-Do's) but was just able to spend a couple of hours taking apart the ebay El Tigre, and cleaning a few parts. It did have a chromed frame and forks, but I don't think the chroming used back then was all that good, because a lot of it has disappeared. Somebody had welded a cross brace above the front fender from one lower fork to another, and I had to cut that out in order to free up the springs, and twist them out of their retaining cups. There is a crack in the frame, under the engine mounting plate, where the two pieces of frame were connected together at the factory, as evidenced by the other welded joint that still has the chrome plating on it on the other side. All in all, I think it was a fairly productive 2 hours, and everything came apart with no broken bolts, no stripped threads, and no more carnage than was originally there...
