Electric start gear from flywheel

Looks straight foward, just confirming. H50 motor with starter ring gear... Can I just cut it off if I don't need it?

of the flywheel? no but maybe i dont know what you mean. as a rule of thumb you never modify a flywheel

you'll more than likely not get an accurate precision removal and could possibly throw the balance off.

i just pop it right off . its simple

Thanks.. It appears the ring gear is pressed on. Don't need it . Going to experiment tonight. I don't even think I'll come close to disturbing the balance of the wheel.

I Have an aluminum one there were 4 screws holding the ring gear on. After removing them I was able to tap the gear off.

Came off easy. Used a piece of brass bar stock and a ball pene hammer.
